"1966 Impala 250 Sport USA. From what I can gather less than 700 of these were imported to the USA. The U.S. model having a few more horsepower and the cool fender mount / fork brace. This bike has 3800 original miles. I have put less than 100 miles on it myself. The paint and seat cover are original. There is rust on the bike. I have not tried to remove any of it. I'm sure some would come off and some of it will not. I personally like it the way it is. I purchased the bike over a year ago. The gentleman I purchased it from was not the original owner. However he had owned it for a very long time. He wisely never restored it. He did order replacement parts from Rocky Mountain Montesa to keep it going. He rode it occasionally to vintage bike meets here in the Seattle are. Then he took the motor out to freshen up the rings and seals. He had it mostly put back together then got busy and let it sit. In the mean time his eye sight deteriorated. Unable to put it back together he sold it to me. I had the motor put back together by a friend / Bultaco expert. I then installed the engine and put fresh fuel in it and it came to life in two kicks. It is a blast to ride and very fast for a 250cc of its age. This bike is so original. As mentioned the previous owner did order a few replacement parts. They are all factory Montesa and correct to this model. I have a folder with all the receipts that is included along with a parts catalog and Cycle World road test. The tires are even original Pirelli Espana. The tank has a few small dings. The grips are not original. The carburetor is the correct Spanish Amal. The bike runs great. It does require a push start some times. The previous owner could never get it to kick start. That was one of the reasons he took it apart. It usually will kick start. However if it doesn't a push will always get it going. This bike sold AS-IS with original rust and paint. A rare find and sure to only appreciate in value. Please ask all questions PRIOR to bidding. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for all shipping costs."
